Dabaree Celebrated in the Fall

dabaree oromia

In the fall of 2024, CGWE celebrated Dabaree with the community in Wayu Tuka District, Oromia, Ethiopia by donating female calves to women on our waiting list. These gifts are more than just livestock—they’re a source of income, nourishment, and hope. And the impact doesn’t stop there: some of our past recipients are now giving back, donating calves to help other women in need. It’s a beautiful cycle of generosity.

But what is Dabaree? It’s a traditional practice rooted in the spirit of giving and mutual support. CGWE embraces this powerful tradition to help improve the lives of women and children across Oromia. Through Dabaree, a single act of kindness grows and multiplies—bringing lasting change to entire communities.

Contribute to our mission and break the cycle of poverty.
