2026 Mission Trip: Young Cows for Village Women

Our mission trip included attending the Dabaree Ceremony where previous beneficiaries become donors and give a heifer (young cow) to this year’s beneficiaries. The cow will enable the family to gain food security, economic stability, and transform the community.

Beneficiaries were from Wayu Tuka and Guto Gida districts from different villages.

Training and Education

Beneficiaries receive training on hygiene, cultivating creativity training, business training to empower them to improve their economic situation.

Solar Lights Program

CGWE’s Solar Lights program provided over 200 solar powered lights to community members this year (2026). The lights enable families to have a better quality of life, enable cooking, reading and improve safety.

Reading Room Program

CGWE’s village reading room program funds places where books are available and reading resources are within reach of children and families. Your support is part of this progress. Become a donor.

In 2026, CGWE will fund two Reading Room projects. The first is already in place and the second is scheduled to be completed in the fall.

Your support is essential to enable us to make an even greater impact on the women, children and families in Oromia.

Local Cow Market

CGWE supporters donated 64 cows in 2026. The donations made direct impacts to empower women and families, breaking the cycle of poverty. Cows were acquired locally.
